Rapist and convicted assailant Brock Turner was released from jail on Friday, September 2, serving only 3 out of the 6 months he was given. Here are 7 things that lasted longer than Brock Turners jail sentence.

1. Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Esposito's marriage.

Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Esposito's marriage; that Cooper referred to as "just something that happened" lasted four months- one month longer than Turner's time in jail.

2. The presidential election.

We're over 16 month into the election now, and still have some time to go.

3. A school semester.

A single semester is usually about four months long. One month longer than Turner served. Maybe that's why they refer to him as "Former Stanford student" instead of rapist.

4. A professional sports seasons.

Turner also is often referred to as a "swimmer" rather than a convicted assailant, maybe that's because a swim season or any sports season is longer than the time he spent behind bars.

5. The condiments in my fridge.

I'm pretty sure I've got ketchup older than rapist Brock Turner's sentence.

6. Kalief Browder's wait for trial.

Kalief Browder was a sixteen year old boy, accused of stealing a backpack. For this he was sent to Rikers Island in New York, where he spent three years waiting for a trial, only for the charges to be dropped. He ended up killing himself last June.

7. Turner's trial.

The assault took place in January of 2015 and Turner was not even sentenced until June 2016. That is 6 times longer than the time he served before being released.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
