So, it happened. One of your best friends finally got engaged and it's started sinking in. As her best friend, you are obviously about to go through a few emotional stages and big steps and I just want to share with you what some of those are.

Get some tissues, here we go.

1. You screamed with excitement and joy.

You may have also almost passed out, like 'ole Nick Miller did when he met Prince.

2. You cried a little.

You tried to hold it back as best as possible.

3. Then you cried a lot.

Who are you kidding? You cried a lot. Come on... SHE'S GETTING MARRIED!

4. You went into planning mode.

Everything has to go perfect. She's your girl and it's her big day. You have to ensure everything is exactly how she wants it.

5. When she asks you to be her MOH/Bridesmaid.

If it went anything like the way my experience went, this was only your reaction after you cried because all the other girls opened their gift and read the note first. Your balloon burst and your note flew across the room, then you had this reaction.

6. Letting her put her dress on and dance around every time you come over.

She's so stinking beautiful and you can't help but to let her wear it every chance she gets.

7. Accepting the fact that you have to let go a little to be a wife.

She's still going to be your best friend, but you have to accept that she's going to be a married woman with a big girl life, and soon she'll start her own family. No more all nighters, silly games, random baking, or morning Pinterest and cuddles in her bed.

There's so many moments you experience when one of your best friends get engaged, and these are only of the few that I've experienced in the last two months since my best friend got engaged. It's one of the happiest moments for her and you're happy for her, but selfishly, you're kind of sad because she's grown now and we're all growing up, whether we want to or not. Love on your soon-to-be-wed best friend and cherish every moment of friendship you're given, because that friendship will last you a lifetime, married or not!

For my girl, Cat. I love you big time, forever and ever! I can't wait to share your big day with you and all the obstacles, stress, and fun building up to it. Your friendship means more to me than you know, and I'm a million times thankful for you.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
