A mother daughter bond is one that is unique to the two women who share it. Some mother and daughters mimic each other so much that you aren’t even sure they are two seperate people and some are total opposites you’re confused about how they are even related, if you’re reading this you probably don’t identify with that latter. You and your mom are pretty much the same person, and here’s why.

1. Family members call you by her name more than your own.

My grandmother on my mom’s side does this so often I’m not sure she even knows my actual name at this point. I used to get so mad when this would happen but once you correct your family a million times over the years you just start answering to whatever name they call you.

2. You often think “I sound just like my mother” or get told “That’s something your mom would say”

You will be talking to your friend and all of a sudden you stop and think that is something my mom would do or I sound just like her when I laugh like that. It’s kind of terrifying the first time it happens but you learn to appreciate all the things about you that are just like her.

3. You find yourself doing her weird little dance moves all the time

If you got it flaunt it girl because you got it from your mama

4. Your baby pictures look scary similar

When there is a picture hanging in your grandparents house that freaks you out every time you walk past it because it looks exactly like you or when your family tells you “You look just like Denise at when she was this age”.

5. People tell you that you look like twins

Yes, I know, thank you.

5. You can telepathically communicate

When one of you says what the other one is thinking or when you reach down to pick up your phone and text your mom and she’s already texted you saying the same thing you were about to say. This happens way more often than I would like to admit.

6. You walk out of your rooms wearing the same outfit

“One of us is going to have to change!”

7. You are best friends

You go to her first when you need advice or want to share something with someone. You don't mind staying in to watch movies on the couch with her on a friday night. You finish each other sentances. And most of all you are so grateful that she is your mom.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering.
