7 Things That Everyone With Straight Hair Can Relate To

Girls and guys alike, we always want to change our hair. If we have straight hair, we want curly hair. If we have curly hair, we want straight hair. The list goes on and on. Usually people with curly hair say that others with straight hair have it so much better, but I promise it is not that glorious of a hair type. Here are 6 things that all girls with straight hair can relate to.

1. Needing to wash your hair every day.

Yeah, it definitely isn't that big of a deal, but it is super annoying when you're friends can legitimately grab a quick shower, but here you are still washing your hair because it gets greasy 8 minutes after you dry it.

2. You usually cannot wear your hair naturally down.

Your hair doesn't have enough of a wave to leave it down, but it isn't straight enough to not straighten, so either way, you're doing something to your hair.

3. You can't just go to bed with wet hair.

Shoutout to the girls with anything but thin straight hair because you guys can definitely sleep with wet hair, but if I do it I look like I haven't washed my hair in months, maybe years.

4. Straight hair does not like to be curled.

Everyone loves beachy loose waves. The good news is that we get that after we spend 2 hours on curling our hair, only to let it fall within and hour, no matter how much hairspray we use.

5. We need to use so much product on our hair.

Before we dry: product. Before we straighten or curl: product. After we straighten or curl: product. Before we leave the house: product. IT NEVER ENDS.

6. The rain is NOT our friend.

Whether we curl, straighten, or pull our hair up, the rain ruins everything. It doesn't just ruin the look you're going for, it also makes you look like a wet dog. No one likes a person that looks like a wet dog.

7. Static Ruins Lives.

I don't even use dryer sheets in the actual dryer, I only use them when my hair decides to be the size of Utah.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
