Best friends are great. They're like the family that you pick out for yourself. While friendships, like any relationship, may have ups and downs, a best friend sticks by you through it all. Here are a few things you should thank your best friend for ASAP.
1. For loving you when she should totally be judging you.
She's the person who has seen you at your weirdest, and she still likes you. For example, each of my best friends has seen me do something ridiculously weird on more than one occasion. Whether I'm pretending to cast spells with my curling iron or seeing how many cheese puffs I can fit in my mouth, they still seem to like me
2. For listening to your rants.
Your best friend is the one that will respond to your incredibly long text about just about anything. It doesn't matter if you're annoyed that the dining hall is out of ice cream or if your boyfriend just broke up with you. Her concern is always adequate. She's also the person who will sit in your car with you at 3 AM while you have a mental breakdown.
3. For the endless advice
Sometimes you just really need to look at things from a different perspective, and best friends are great for that. They're the ones that will tell you when you're making a mistake, but they'll also help you try to fix it.
4. For being your study buddy
You may not have the same classes or even the same major, but she's always down to spend some quality time in the library or your apartment in mutual torture.
5. For extending her closet to you
One of the best things about having a best friend, is having a few more outfit options. She's always willing to let you borrow her clothes for a night out as long as you return the favor. It's a bonus if you're the same shoe size.
6. For making you laugh
There's a reason that she's your best friend, and the reason probably is that you're mutually weird. She never fails to crack you up.
7. For all your adventures
If you're best friends, you've probably shared some pretty awesome memories. You'll never forget the fun times you've had with her, and she probably won't either. You know that there will be plenty more to come.
So, Best Friend, if you're reading this, thank you for all of these things, but most of all, thank you for being you.
