1. "What?"
Okay, I'm big on this word. I walk around school and I'll see an outfit and turn to someone and say it. Or I'll be in class and not have a clue as to what is going on, which sparks the word to fly out of my mouth or float in my head. It's a word we state in confusion and a word we use when we just weren't listening so we say it to have the other person repeat what they just said. It's an endless loop with this one word that I don't think I'll ever personally let go.
2. "Kill Myself."
This is a recent word phrase I have just picked up upon. I don't mean it in the literal sense. It's more like when I drop a pencil on the floor in class and this phrase slips out of my mouth. It's almost like a "F**k me" but more aggressive. We say it when we drop a fork on the table, we say it when we drop the ice cream from our cone, we say it for no reason what so ever. It's just a thing we say.
3. "Shivies" (Sh-i-VEES)
This isn't a real word, we know, but we say it in place of chills. "Oh, that just gave me the [chills] shivies." It's a feeling you get when you get a cold chill running up your spine, or when your walking and you see someone you hate. It originated from a good friend, Haylee Patterson, and it's been adopted into our vocabulary. It's something we have to say now instead of "the chills".
4. "When Boys/When girls..."
I never said this until I went to college and met the best person I could have. It's something our whole group says now, that originated from her. We say things like "when boys.... smile at you" and "when girls....are fake". It's a silent jab, or sometimes even dirty when the wrong person chimes in with their thoughts. It's a way of life to say this phrase now.
5. "Tits for the yobs"
Look at the last word. It's 'boys' with 'boy' spelled backward and keep the 's' where it is. We say it in times of getting ready for a night out, or when we strut down the hallway and the wrong person sees us. Or when we just look damn good. Tits out for the yobs, man.
6. "Shit"
When you stub your toe, when you almost fall down the stairs, when you're late for class, and when you've got to go to class. This word is in our daily vocabulary because of its all-purpose meaning. We could say it like, "Shit girl, you look fine." It has a great ring to it. We could yell it as we slip on ice walking to class: angry meaning. We could say it in shock, or happiness, or sadness. It's a multi-purpose word that makes the day a little more colorful.
7. "I love you"
Whether you are calling your mom, your best friend, your family member, talking to your neighbor in the dorms, or telling them you love them when they're having a bad day. It's there as a pick me up and a sign of love and trust. It's a phrase most people hang on to, it's a phrase some long to hear, but here, we say it almost every hour. It's a sign of caring and that's what it's all about up here, caring for everyone on our dorm floor.
