There comes a time in the life of a psych major when you realize how deep you’ve gone into your field of study. There’s no denying it – your major has become one of the biggest parts of your life. What exactly does it mean to be a psychology major?
1. You diagnose yourself far too often
Let's face it: once you learned what a DSM is, you couldn't help searching for the answer to all your problems.
2. You have a reason for most human behavior
When someone does something stupid, you have the textbook reason behind their actions
3. People always ask you if you're diagnosing them
No. That's...that's not all psychology does...
4. You're always told that your major is the easy one
Yes, we get it. This isn't engineering or accounting. We get the idea.
5. You have a distinct dislike for Sigmund FreudBut really, you're not a true psychology nerd without despising Sigmund Freud
6. People think that means you're a therapist and they can tell you their life storyUnfortunately, my major does not license me to listen to your life story.
7. You psychologically analyze movie characters
We may not be analyzing you but that doesn't stop us from analyzing fictional characters!
At the end of the day, learning about psychology and working with amazing people always out-weighs the weird questions and funky looks.
