7 Things I Love About Target

If I could live there, I would.

7 Things I Love About Target
The political Insider

Target is one of my favorite places to shop and I'm always finding an excuse to go there. It doesn't matter if I pass three stores on my way to Target that sell Band-Aids. I will buy them at Target simply because Target is amazing and I want to wander around the store after picking up my said Band-Aids. It all starts when you walk in the front door ...

1. The food selection

Almost every target is graced with the presence of a Starbucks and a Target cafe. Selections range from a fat-free iced caramel macchiato to raspberry slurpees and soft pretzels. Nothing makes shopping more enjoyable than a refreshing drink or a salty snack, or both. You can buy a snack before you shop and then grab another snack on the way out because why not.

2. The dollar section

The dollar section is one my favorite sections of all time. While it should be named "The 5 dollar and under section," I still love it. I've purchased seasonal door signs to cute window stickers to a mint plant in this section. It always has something to offer and never disappoints.

3. The clothing

Usually, this is the second place I wander to. I find this section a hit or miss but it's usually a hit. Just today I found a romper I fell in love with but it sadly didn't come in my size. So what did I do? I went to two other targets just to find it in my size. I didn't mind spending more time there. I especially love when their bathing suit display pops up in the beginning of February. It's a nice escape from the dreary winter weather.

4. The Cartwheel app

This app is absolutely amazing. It shows you all the sales that are happening at Target as well as how long those sales are going on for. You can also set a specific store as yours and unlock offers only available at that specific location. Additionally, it specifically recommends items for you and is basically just another reason to go to Target.

5. The seasonal section

By far my favorite section of Target. Right now the back-to-school supplies are out and I have been through it three times. It doesn't matter if I've seen everything in every aisle, I still browse and contemplate buying new pencils. When they have their halloween decorations out, I am there in a heartbeat. And my favorite part about the holidays is their holiday section. It's kind of like Pokemon- gotta see it all.

6. It's organized.

Rarely have I seen the store looking like a mess. I can always find what I'm looking for and rarely see anything out of place. It's beautiful. It makes shopping there a million times better. The packaging is also not ripped through or destroyed.

7. The Up & Up brand

Hands down, one of the best generic brands I have ever tried. From q-tips to sunscreen to dryer sheets, the brand never disappoints. Sometimes I prefer using the Up & Up brand over the name brands. The quality is just as good and the price tag is easier on the eyes than the name brand products are.

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.

To My Loving Boyfriend,

  • Thank you for all that you do for me
  • Thank you for working through disagreements with me
  • Thank you for always supporting me
  • I appreciate you more than words can express
  • You have helped me grow and become a better person
  • I can't wait to see where life takes us next
  • I promise to cherish every moment with you
  • Thank you for being my best friend and confidante
  • I love you and everything you do

To start off, here's something I don't say nearly enough: thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You do so much for me that I can't even put into words how much I appreciate everything you do - and have done - for me over the course of our relationship so far. While every couple has their fair share of tiffs and disagreements, thank you for getting through all of them with me and making us a better couple at the other end. With any argument, we don't just throw in the towel and say we're done, but we work towards a solution that puts us in a greater place each day. Thank you for always working with me and never giving up on us.

Because no one ever really leaves.

Ah, yes, good old Hauppauge. We are that town in the dead center of Long Island that barely anyone knows how to pronounce unless they're from the town itself or live in a nearby area. Hauppauge is home to people of all kinds. We always have new families joining the community but honestly, the majority of the town is filled with people who never leave (high school alumni) and elders who have raised their kids here. Around the town, there are some just some landmarks and places that only the people of Hauppauge will ever understand the importance or even the annoyance of.
