Being a huge "Grey's Anatomy" fan, I only thought it was fitting to write about why I love the show so much. The show has not only been very entertaining, but it also taught me some really valuable life lessons.
1. Being beautiful isn't the most important thing in the world.
Everyone seems to be so focused on being attractive or being popular, but really what is important is how you treat people and where you let your intelligence take you.
2. Everyone needs a "person."
The Meredith Grey and Cristina Yang combo ain't nothin' to f*** with. They both get each other and always lean on each other through everything. It's definitely important to have someone you can count on, and be "your person."
3. No one is perfect—not you, not me.
Life is flawed. People are not perfect and you will be disappointed if you think so. Life is tough and to get through it, you need to be realistic.
4. You never know what the next day will bring.
We all know "Grey's" is extremely heartbreaking and kills off those we love. But it also makes a point that you never know when it's "your time." Always tell someone you love them, always end on a good note with people.
5. Sometimes your life falls apart but you need to pick up the pieces.
Sometimes we all need to fall apart to pick ourselves back up again—and that's OK.
6. Find yourself and love yourself before you give your all to someone else.
One of my favorite quotes from Grey's is what Cristina Yang says to Meredith Grey about her Husband, McDreamy, Derek Shepherd.
7. Don't be afraid to fall in love.
It's scary and it doesn't always have a happy ending, but that shouldn't stop you from doing it.
