7 Things God Wants All Girls To Know

He is with us through the good and the bad.

Every now and then we could all use a little reassurance in our faith... especially for us girls. Things don't seem to go the way we want them to. We don't get the grade we were hoping for, we're rejected, we don't see our worth, and the list goes on. In the end, it is important to remember that God is on our side, and He is always looking for us. He is with us through the good and the bad, the easy and the hard, and the straightforward and confusing/complicated times. Whether you find yourself needing a reminder of His love now, or maybe in the future, here are 7 things that God wants every girl to know:

1. I want to be a woman who trusts that God has a plan, even when I don't understand.

I think it's safe to say that a lot of us don't have a plan, and even those who do, find themselves straying off the path every now and then. Sometimes it's hard to understand why things don't work out. We ask questions like 'why aren't I good enough?' or 'why isn't this working out?' In the end, we need to remember that God's plan is greater than our own, and will take to places we never thought possible.

2. Jesus Christ knows the worst about you. Nonetheless, He is the one who loves you most.

As girls, we tend to remember everything, or at least everything that is important to us. When we feel like we mess up and hurt someone, the guilt can stay with us for a long time. It always seems to stay in the back of our minds and every night reminds us of things that cause us to beat ourselves up. It is important to remember that you can't hide anything from God. He knows what is going to happen before we do. He knows the mistakes we are going to make, but He is forgiving and loves you unconditionally (mistakes and all)!

3. "I didn't ask you to be her. I asked you to be you." -God

We all do it. We compare ourselves to other girls. We wonder why we don't have her hair, her skills and talents, her body, her life, etc. It's an endless cycle. You were created in the likeness and image of God. You're beautiful. You are 100% you, and no one else can be you no matter how hard they try. Smile, laugh, be determined, and most importantly, be you!

4. Consider the fact that maybe God closed that door because He knew you were worth so much more.

For some reason we love to measure our worth by the validation of other people. We only acknowledge our beauty when someone tells us we look good and we are the most confident we will ever be when someone gives us a compliment. When God says no, all it means is something better is on the way. It could be a better job opportunity, a better man, a true friendship, etc. Don't force things.

5. "Never abandon prayer, even when it seems pointless to pray." -Pope Francis

It's no secret that girls love to talk. We share everything with our best friends. They are the one who help us when we're stuck and assist us when it comes to making tough decisions. But sometimes there are things that we just can't say out loud, or even know how to say out loud. That is where prayer comes in. You don't have to know the words because God knows what is in your heart. He knows exactly what you need to say, and He is always listening. Whenever you're having a hard time, take a second and say a prayer.

6. We never once, and never will, walk alone.

Sometimes it feels like the world is against us. Maybe a friend is upset with you or you had a fight with someone you're close with. It can leave you feeling alone, but remember you are never alone. God is there every step of the way. Put your faith in Him. He is always there to listen and always there to help. So, next time you feel like it's you verses the world... remember you have God on your side.

7. Everything we think we aren't in the world's eyes we already are in God's eyes.

Be confident in who you are. Next time you think you aren't pretty enough, skinny enough, your hair isn't the right color, you aren't smart enough or whatever else goes through your mind... remember you are everything to God. He sees us for who we truly are, and that is the person He wants us to be.

Next time you catch yourself thinking negatively, take a minute and pray. Don't overthink. Everything that comes to mind give to God.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
