It's that time of year again, October 1st is just around the corner and the spirit of All Hallow's Eve is about to fill the air. Luckily for us at Manhattanville College and Westchester county, the month of October is filled with Halloween fun. Here's a list of things to check out this October.

1. The Great Jack O'Lantern Blaze.

Head to the biggest display of pumpkin art in the tri-state area! The Great Jack O' Lantern Blaze at Van Cortlandt Manor is an electrifying site with sculpted pumpkins lighting up the night! 2. Scared By The Sound.

Looking for a good haunted house? Scared By The Sound is where you need to go. Rye Playland shuts down it's amusement park and utilizes the property to create a haunted house and cemetery along the beach. 3. Jay Ghoul's House of Curiosities.

Jay Ghoul's House of Curiosities is best for those who are easily frightened. Held in Lyndhurst Castle in Tarrytown, guests get to take a tour of the gothic mansion after dark and take part in the curiosity of every room. The castle is filled with familiar fairy tale characters, live actors, and propped scenes along with dime lighting and music to make some spooky fun for every age. Sleepy Hollow's legend comes alive at the Philipsburg Manor where guests can walk through and discover the premises that have been taken over by creatures and monsters alike. 6. Sleepy Hollow Cemetery Tours.

What better way to celebrate the spirit of Halloween than with a guided kerosene lantern tour of a 167 year old cemetery? Sleep Hollow offers these tours throughout the year but they get especially fun during the Halloween season. Offering three different tours: classic lantern tour, Mayhem and Murder tour, and the Good the Bad and the Unusual tour guest can explore the cemetery at night under a different theme and learn some stuff along the way.
