If there's one thing every college student is thankful for, it's Thanksgiving break. The excitement of going home to see family and friends and eat home cooked meals is pretty much bouncing off the walls all across college campuses and for many, it's a time to finally slow down and reflect on everything that has happened during the past few weeks at school. It's also a time to reflect on the most important joys of being a student. Without further ado, here are 20 things every college student is thankful for.

1. Naps.

Before class, after class, in-between class, pretty much whenever the schedule allows.

2. Netflix.

There's always that one show to watch instead of doing homework.

3. Coffee.

Nuff said.

4. Sweatpants, always.

They make 8 a.m. classes more bearable, am I right?

5. The chance to hit snooze on your alarm.

Five more minutes can easily turn into 20 but hey, as long as we get up 10 minutes before class, we can swing it.

6. Classes with a flexible attendance policy.

6 skips allowed for the entire semester? Sign me up.

7. Strong wifi connections.

This itself is a blessing from God.

8. Extended deadlines.

You know those professors who decide the class needs a few extra days to work on something either because of a class conflict or because they haven't caught up on grading? Those are the best, the real MVPs.

9. Professors who don't take attendance.

Do I need to say anything more.

10. Take-home exams.

A test I can take in my PJs, at my dorm or in the comfort of my bed? Thanks prof.

11. Weekends.

While there may be homework, there's typically a bit more of an excuse for free time.

12. Game days.

Time to let that inner school spirit shine!

13. Chipotle, Jimmy Johns, or Pizza.

Basically anything delicious that isn't from the campus cafeteria.

14. Discounts and free things just for being a college student.

Time to whip out that college student ID.

15. Friends back home.

There's nothing like seeing and talking to those forever friends who know you best.

16. Chances to see family.

Anytime, anyplace.

17. Mail.

Come on, you'd be lying if you said you weren't all about those care packages.

18. Thanksgiving break and all the free, homecooked food.

Can I get an amen?

19. Going home for the holidays and breaks.

Thankful for Thanksgiving.

20. The reminder that the semester will soon be coming to a close.

Once Thanksgiving is over the semester will resume but soon we'll be saying hello to sleeping in, guilt-free Netflix marathons and most importantly, no homework, stress or deadlines.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
