As a communication major, I tend to get a lot of comments from people I encounter. Commonly known as the "party major," communication is not as easy as everybody makes it out to be. It gets annoying with everybody bashing on the one thing that you basically devote your entire college career studying. Here are some of the most common things that I'm sure all communications majors are sick and tired of hearing.

1. "I wish my classes were as easy as yours."

I mean first off you've never taken my classes. You don't know how easy they are. If you call memorizing different communication models and countless theories and reading an endless amount of textbook chapters, I guess you could call it easy.

2. "You’re not going to make a lot of money, you know that right?"

I don’t think it’s any of your business how much I will end up making. Some people don’t make that much, while others become millionaires. It is what you end up doing with it that counts, not the degree itself. Heck, our girl Oprah was a communication major!

3. "What can you even do with it?"

You can do anything you want to do with a com degree. All of that media you consume every single day- TV, magazines, social media, websites, adverts, images and graphics, books, newspapers- all can be from communication majors. In addition, you can also do business related things like leadership, public relations, marketing, event planning, or anything really that has to do with communicating. The possibilities of what you can do with it are endless.

4. "Can you edit my paper?"

I mean in all honesty I would totally enjoy editing your paper. I love writing and editing and I'm actually really good at it, but please be prepared to buy me some food in exchange. I'm not some grammar machine that works for free.

5. "Since you're a comm major, can you present our project?"

Just because I study communication does not mean that I like talking in front of people. I am probably just as, if not more, awkward than you are. I do not always enjoy talking out loud in front of people or even to individuals just because of my major choice, so please don't expect me to be a social butterfly for you.

6. "That's not a real major..."

Oh, ok. I mean what do you think I am doing at college then? Want me to pull up my requirements for you? Just because I am not studying surgery or how to set up a wired circuit does not mean that my education isn't as important.

7. "What did you originally want to study?"

This was not my backup... Communication was my first choice and I am lucky that my college has such a great program for it. I am very a very intelligent person and just because I am in a creative major does not make me any less. Even though I get shit a lot of times for choosing to go into it, I love being a com major and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
