There's plenty of small towns in America and we probably have plenty in common with all of them, but there's a certain community spirit you feel being from this one.

Everybody knows everything about everyone else.

I've straight up been asked if my moms best friends ex-husband's new girlfriend is nice or not….

All our parties are bonfires!

And what could be more fun…?

Though you might also find us out on the lake--day or night

That's right we have our very own lake. Man- made and everything!

It's half country and half suburban.

Most everybody owns at least a little land and if not, they're a part of the 5-6 subdivisions scattered around. So no, I'm not a farm kid but we own 2 acres and you can see cows from my front porch.

But did you know it was founded by a family from NYC?

Who doesn't love some historically true stories!

Our sports teams are a big deal.

Everyone comes out to cheer on the Warriors! Plus, just about all the athletes have made the front page of the newspaper at least once!

And so are the restaurants!

Ever heard of Justus drugstore? Not actually a drugstore but a fancy place to dine while in town. It was showcased on T.V and made multiple “Best restaurant” lists.

Overall we stand up for our own! Once you leave you realize just how much support you have gotten from this community. It's irreplaceable and missed by everyone that has left it behind!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
