There are plenty of great movies that are coming out to theaters this summer. From ratings of G to R and genres of animated to horror, there are a ton of movies to look forward to seeing. I think that the film industry has given us a good variety of films to choose from as well. I know that going to the movies on a nice summer day is the last thing that many of us would think of doing, but there are handful of rainy days and chilly nights that can be used to go check out these new films. Here are a couple of new films that are about to hit the big screen that I think are worth seeing this summer!

1.Finding Dory

IT HAS FINALLY ARRIVED! Well, not completely, but on June 17th the movie that all of us Disney/Pixar fans have been waiting for. This film is all about our favorite little forgetful blue tang, Dory. In this movie, Dory wants to find her parents and family. On her adventure to find her family, Dory runs into some new friends and foes. This movie is at number one because it’s been the movie that everyone has been raving about since the teasers from the fall.

2.The Conjuring 2: The Endfield Experiment

Lorraine and Ed Warner are at it again with another ghostly investigation. As a continuation from the first film The Conjuring, the Warners are called to investigate a house in London. This film is surely to be a hit, or at least that is what I think. I recommend that you prepare yourself for plenty of jump scares and try not to scream in the theater.

3.Suicide Squad

It is another movie that all of you superhero/super-villain fans have been waiting for. Most of your favorite villains are chosen by the government to complete a mission that the government things is too dangerous for the superheroes, so why not send in the villains… makes sense, I guess. The film had teasers last year with shots of the famous duo, Joker and Harley Quinn, where both villains have had a major makeover. I, for one, am super excited to see this movie. Only thing, is that we still have a couple of months to go, since the film is going to hit theaters in August, but it will be worth the wait.

4.Sausage Party

From the trailer, you would think that this movie would be for children, but we were all sadly mistaken. Comedian Seth Rogen has created a film that will definitely be one that many will remember. The movie is about food products from a grocery store that originally want to leave the store and see the outside world, but little do they know that the outside world is not the greatest. This comedy film is definitely one to see with a group of your friends one night. Let’s just hope that this doesn’t change your views of food products the next time you go grocery shopping.

5.The Secret Life of Pets

It seems that this summer is filled of animated movies. For those of you who have not heard of this movie, you have probably seen the cute trailer on social media. This cute film is all about pets and what they do when their owners are away. It may get you thinking about what really happens when you leave your little pup alone, but just remember, it’s a movie.

6.The Purge: Election Year

It is time again, the Purge is coming, so prepare yourself. This purge is based off of election year, since elections have been going on and soon the presidential election will be coming around the corner. If you do not know what a purge is, it is when all crimes are legal for a 12 hour period of time. That means, you can get away with some crazy sh*t and for those 12 hours, life is pretty chaotic. Don’t get any ideas.

7.War Craft

For all of you gamers, I am pretty sure you all are pretty excited for this film to hit the big screen. In this film, there is a portal between two realms that opens and a war breaks out. As for the trailer, the graphics looked pretty awesome. I think that the movie will be successful, especially with the gamer community.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
