7 Study Tips To Help You Ace Your Finals!

I don't know about you, but when it comes to tests or important finals, I suck at studying. In fact, I have four finals coming up before Thanksgiving and I have yet to look at my books and study. To be honest, I probably won't study (sorry mom). However, I found some great study tips, and I am here to share them with my fellow college and high school students!

1. Find a new space

It's a scientifically proven fact that by alternating spaces you'll learn better. Memory is colored by location, and changing your study locales increases the likelihood of remembering what you’ve learned. So for every subject, change to a new location. Don't spend 7 hours in the library like I did.

2. Flash Cards

Flash cards are a great magnificent tool sent by the Gods above. Writing notes and definitions more than once will help imprint information in your memory, and the cards are a great way to develop and use mnemonic devices and associative phrases.

3. Make Practice Tests

Have a classmate write down some practice questions for you to go over! Consistent testing can help us relearn and recall information, and it pays off when preparing for final exam. Yaaay tests!

4. Don't Party

DO NOT PARTY. Whatever you do, don't party. Take it from me. Trust me young grasshopper. If you show up to class for the exam hungover or still kind of drunk, it won't go well.

5. Sleep

Sleep is the most important thing, like ever! But especially before a test. If you are tired you won't perform well therefore failing, therefore making you mad, and no one likes to be mad.

6. Do Take Breaks

Don't study one topic for five hours; break it up and study a couple of different topics over your study time. You'll get tired really fast and won't have time to cover other topics.

7. Put Your Phone Away

Having your phone out isn't going to help you in any way. Make sure you put your phone away and you get something done!

I hope these 7 tips are super helpful and you rock your tests! Get them done and reward yourself! You'll deserve it!

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.
