Working as a barista is both fun and challenging. We face many different customers every day, while inducing the pressure of the job. Here are seven struggles every barista has experienced at least once.

1. Showing up during rush hour.

The moment you clock into work, you regret it with all your heart. The line is out the door and more people are standing around waiting for their order. It's okay, just back out slowly. They will not notice.

2. When people use the cup sizes wrong.

I will help you out right now.

Tall = the small cup

Grande = the medium cup

Venti = the large cup

Trenta = the extra large cup

You are welcome.

3. The secret menu.

Here is a little secret for you. Most of the time we have no clue what you are talking about. We will try our best to make it though.

4. I do not know your regular order.

It is easier just to say your order than expecting us to memorize it.

5. Attempting to make latte art.

We all remember that one time it was shaped like a heart. Let's face it, it is really hard to make latte art. There is too much pressure.

6. Trying to figure out a difficult order.

7. Watching your co-workers leave while you have to stay.

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
