Summer is upon us which means, for college students, we are back at our jobs back home or taking up new ones in our college town. For me, I am working at my job from home, and it's retail. These kinds of jobs have pros and cons, like any other, but the cons just seem to greatly outweigh the pros. I catch myself having to take a minute, a deep breath, then put a smile back on my face because I just get that irritated with how idiotic some shoppers are. Below are just some of the things that annoy any and all retail workers.

1. How they leave their fitting room.

Don't worry I got it because it really isn't that hard to carry the items of clothing five steps to the rack or table.

2. When they catch you at a bad time.

Either you just walked into the store and haven't clocked in yet, or heading out to your break and haven't clocked out. It's a horrible time, but you can't be rude because, you know, "customer service".

3. When they expect you to know how to spell their last name.

They're reward members with the store but what was that nonsense they just spat out of their mouths without spelling it? And then we look like the dumb ones asking how they spell it. Sorry we didn't grow up with the name, sweetie.

4. When they interrupt your monologue about the store's rewards card.

No, I have spent the past two years perfecting what I say when I try to get someone to sign up. Do not go shaking your head and saying "No," before I am done. Anyway, didn't your mother tell you it isn't polite to interrupt?

5. When they try to make their own promotions.

"Oh, so the whole store is 40% off? Does that include clearance items that are 60%? Like is the 40% on top of that promo?" I'm sorry, but how does that even make sense to you?

6. When they mess up the table you just straightened to perfection.

It's even worse when they knew you just straightened it and saw you. But it's cool, it's fine, throw those clothes every which way on the table, I'll get back to it.

7. You see a group coming in right before close.

Please, no, stop right there and turn around. Come back tomorrow because I do have a life outside of this place past closing time.

Through it all, you gotta thank your co-workers because they're the reason you get through every shift.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
