It's more than just a sport it's a lifestyle.
1. First off, let's talk about the terminology. All over the world, it is known as football, yet here in America it gets a little bit complicated by calling it "soccer".
Sometimes it gets confusing when you used to calling it football instead of soccer.
2. You know that watching soccer is more of an option and less of a priority. It usually is one of the last choices to be honest. Maybe one day it'll attract a larger fan base.
Most people don't choose to sit and watch soccer with you. However, with this new generation of kids the sport is starting to pick up some popularity.
3. Most of the important leagues are in Europe, Africa, or Central America. This makes it a struggle to plan and watch with all the different time zones.
Sometimes you could be asleep, even at work, or class when the game is on. It usually doesn't align with your schedule.
4. When you wish the World Cup Finale was as big of a deal as the Super Bowl.
We still pretend and still have our own celebration.
5. Your soccer friends are all international because no local cares enough about soccer.
No locals care and don't understand you when you're taking about your favorite team. Usually people you are too into soccer are from Africa, Middle East, Europe, and Latin America.
6. When you really get into watching your little brother's soccer games and realize your family is the only one yelling.
You are the family that is coaching from the sidelines and get too into the game.
7. Lastly, when you know that you are with Team Messi or Team Ronaldo.
You know that you can't be a fan of both players.
