In college, every penny saved is important. Online subscriptions, restaurants, and boutiques are just a few of the retail areas that offer discounts to college students. With a student ID, valid school email, or another form of identification, accessing student discounts is simple.

If you're unsure whether or not a student discount is offered, either ask a sales associate or do some research online. The worst they can do is say no! Here are some subscriptions, stores, and websites that offer helpful student discounts.

1. Spotify

Spotify is a popular music streaming service that offers a 50% student discount on its monthly payment of $9.99 for a premium account. Apply for the discount here!

2. Amazon Prime

Amazon Prime offers free two-day shipping as well as access to Amazon TV, Prime Music, and discounts on specific items sold on the website. The standard price for a yearlong membership is $99, but with valid identification, students receive a six-month trial and 50% off after the trial ends.

3. PBTeen

PBTeen (Pottery Barn Teen) has everything dorm related --- comforter sets, furniture, decor, etc. If you sign up online with your student email, they offer 15% off of your order.

4. Chick-Fil-A & Chipotle

Both restaurants offer a free drink to students with a valid ID, but it varies from location to location. Ask an employee next time you're there!

5. Topshop, H&M, Madewell, etc.

These clothing stores and many others offer anywhere between 10% to 20% off of your purchase if you have valid ID. Other specialty stores that offer student discounts (also between 10% and 20%) include Kate Spade, Juicy Couture, and Steve Madden.

6. The New York Times

For the All Access subscription, students receive four weeks free and pay $1.50 a week for as long as they are in school. Join here!

7. Tickets

In addition to these stores and subscriptions, there are a bunch of entertainment activities that offer student discounts, such as sports events, museums, and movie theater tickets. These vary based on the company and area you live in, so just ask around or do some research to find out how much you can save.

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
