It really is the most wonderful time of the year. Finals are over. Christmas is right around the corner. And college students across the country finally get to go home for longer than a 4-day weekend. Yes, winter break is just about the best thing to happen in a college student's life. Four weeks of no classes, no tests, no stress. Just family, friends, and Netflix. Everyone has that certain something they are eagerly awaiting to do once they get home. Maybe it's pet their dog or finally sleep as long as they possibly can. For Long Island kids coming back for break, there are some super special places they are sure to go during their time home.

1. Dunkin' Donuts

lol, you're joking right?

Thank God JFK has one inside. If we don't get iced coffee into our systems within 20 minutes of landing on the island, it sets the mood for the entire break, and it's not a good one.

2. A Diner

Oh no, you're flights at 11:00 P.M. and you know you're going to be starving when you land, but no place will be open for food!!!- say no Long Island kid ever. We all know our 24-hour diners will be awaiting our arrival any time our flight comes in.

3. The Beach

We have been like fish out of water for the past three months, literally. We just need to see the ocean and all is right in the world once again.

4. The City

Answering all the questions your college friends asked us about it all semester long really leaves us with a longing to be back in the Big Apple. Ah, fastwalkers, how I've missed you. Can you please teach the kids on my campus how to pick up the pace? *Bonus* The Tree is up!!!!!

5. The Deli

How many times at school have you woken up on a Saturday with a burning and insatiable craving for a Bacon, Egg, and Cheese. That's right, every. single. Saturday. Finally we can satisfy our deep, deep need.

6. Your Best Friend's House

Okay so every college kids does this, but how could we leave them out?! Let's be real though, who did you miss more, her or her dog?

7. The Mall

Roosevelt Field, Walt Whitman, Smith Haven. Ten days to do all of our Christmas shopping. Challenge accepted.

We spend the next four weeks savoring every bit of the island we love and question why we ever left it in the first place. College gives a whole new meaning to "Absence makes the heart grow fonder." But, by the end of break we're ready to head back to school... and anxiously wait to come back home again for the perfect Long Island summer.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
