We aren't all worship arts "wanna be" girls!

Calling yourself a Christian girl can either impress and relieve the parents of your boyfriend, or it can bring peers to have quick judgments. Although being a "Christian girl" is a good thing, extremes can be made, whether it's on the positive or negative side, that can raise eyebrows and often not be true. Let's embrace the fact that we are Christian college girls and show the world that all of these stereotypes aren't true!

1. We are "goodie-goodies"

Of course, we may seem like the perfect package on the outside: good grades, good hearts, simply "good." But the reality is, we are just like everyone else! We don't always get straight A's, we don't make it to every single class (because if you ask a college student, then that's nearly impossible) and we don't have an idea of ourselves as the "good girls."

2. Ring before spring

Love is in the air! Yes, it is real; no, not for everyone! Just because it happens more frequently at Christian colleges, doesn't mean that every boy who holds a door open will be flagged down by a girl because she has decided he's the one for her! But boys, if y'all are lucky, then you might just find your perfect girl!

3. We don't have fun

We have so much fun! We might not be having the same fun as other public universities, but we have a blast. The connections and adventures that God takes us on are incredible and we can't thank anyone but Him for these! Yes, we might just love going to chapel, praying with our friends and spending time worshiping, but all of that can be so fun too!

4. We are judgmental

So I'm assuming if you believe this one, then you've probably had a run in with a judgmental Christian and for that -- I'm sorry. We aren't all that way! We are all learning of God's love for us so we can love others, but please don't judge all of us because of that one person who wasn't perfect because I don't think you are either.

6. "Hipster"

Okay, so here's the thing: we aren't all worship arts wanna be hipster girls! Granted you'll see a lot of Christian girls (especially bloggers!) who are into super hipster clothes, worship music, and aesthetically pleasing Instagrams. But what's wrong with that?! Granted, I wish I could pull off the hipster look of denim, beanies, and boots but I will always be a worship arts wannabe girl since I don't quite pull off that look as well as every other girl! But girls, don't feel like you have to have this trendy look to fit in, God wants you to be unique!

7. We adore coffee

This is absolutely (not for everyone, but still) true! Coffee dates are the best place for sharing our lives together, going on a date, and even just a place to journal (while getting the perfect setting to take an aesthetic picture for your Insta!) Not that everyone loves coffee but I promise, a nice cup of coffee will cheer up any day and be an awesome date!

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

We've all been there. From move-in day to the first finals week in college, your first term is an adventure from start to finish. In honor of college decisions coming out recently, I want to recap some of the most common experiences college freshmen experience.

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!

Recently I completed my freshman year of college, and boy, what an experience. It was a completely new learning environment and I can't believe how much I learned. In an effort to save time, here are the ten biggest lessons I learned from my first year of college.

1. Everyone is in the same boat

For me, the scariest part of starting school was that I was alone, that I wouldn't be able to make any friends and that I would stick out. Despite being told time and time again that everyone had these same feelings, it didn't really click until the first day when I saw all the other freshman looking as uneasy and uncomfortable as me. Therefore, I cannot stress this enough, everyone is feeling as nervous as you.
