7 Songs You Need On Your Workout Playlist

This is the time of year when people start working out for the summer. Many people, myself included, would love to work out all year but can’t find the time to do it until right before summer officially starts. Additionally, if you’re like me, you’ve been searching for the perfect songs to put on your workout playlist that will keep you motivated. Here are, in my opinion, 7 songs you need on this playlist to help you maintain your motivation during your workout:

"Radioactive" by Imagine Dragons

This one is one of my favorites on my playlist because it really keeps me going during a workout. (I mean come on; it’s about becoming stronger than humanly possible!) It’s perfect for weight-lifting, running, jogging, walking, biking, or anything else you might incorporate into your workout.

"Lose Yourself" by Eminem

This is might seem obvious, but it deserves its spot on this list. The song is about losing yourself (I know, I’m shocked too), and you can interpret that as losing yourself in your workout. This could help you get better results during your workout and feel better after. It’s perfect for any kind of workout, but I prefer to listen to it while running.

"Lights Come On" by Jason Aldean

I know what you’re thinking: country on a workout playlist?? Yes. Country on a workout playlist. Trust me. Jason Aldean is a country artist; however, this song is not entirely country. It’s a great song in general, but it will definitely earn a spot on your playlist if you just give it a chance. It’s perfect for running, walking, or weight-lifting (and a nice drive on a random summer night).

"The Middle" by Jimmy Eat World

Trust me when I say this: this is the ultimate workout song. Every time this song comes on during a workout, it makes me push myself harder and go faster and longer than I thought I could. It is really motivational, and I suggest listening to it while running because it seems to have this super cool power that makes you want to push yourself even more. Try it out for yourself!

"Confident" by Demi Lovato

Who wouldn’t want a song named “Confident” on their workout playlist? This song gives you at least a little bit of confidence, but it definitely makes you push yourself to be the best you can be while working out. If nothing else, the beat alone should make you want to add this to your playlist.

"Bibia Be Ye Ye" by Ed Sheeran

Again, I know what you’re thinking: Ed Sheeran on a workout playlist?? Again, yes. Ed Sheeran on a workout playlist. Just trust me. This song is upbeat and about something totally inspirational. (The title translates to “Everything Will Be Okay.”) The African beat is enough to make you run faster, but the words will help to push you as well. I suggest listening to this one while running or speed walking because you can’t help but move faster once it comes on.

"Bailando" by Enrique Iglesias

This one is probably really obvious if you like Spanish music or music in Spanish, but it should be on your playlist. You can choose the English version or the Spanish version, but I like the Spanish version the best. It’s great for any kind of workout, but I prefer it for running or weight-lifting.

There is something for everyone on this list, so I hope you find something that speaks to you! Have fun working out, and happy summer!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
