7 Songs That Will Make You Say "Why Worry?"

We are our biggest critic. We're constantly reminding ourselves that we're too much this, or not enough that, but is all of our judgement worth? The last thing it does is encourage us. We already have enough pressure from the media, our peers, and family. None of it makes us aspire to love ourselves more or accomplish our goals. We need to give ourselves more credit and remind ourselves that we are more than enough. Sometimes music focuses on the negatives with break-ups, missed opportunities, and loss, to name a few. Of course, all of those things are apart of life, and aren't disappearing overnight. After our sulking, change needs to be made to make us feel weightless and clear our heads. A positive mindset can help us to fight our battles while feeling good about ourselves during the process. Here are 7 songs to help you get in the spirit.

1. Why Worry - Set It Off

The title says it all. When I'm stressing over things that I cannot control, I have to stop and ask myself, “why worry?” Worries combine to be quicksand and will pull you down without hesitation. So, take a deep breath. We have so much great things surrounding us. Realize them, and worries will be hard to entertain.

2. The Middle - Jimmy Eat World

It's so easy to get lost in our heads and totally fabricate negativity. This classic lets us rock out to positive words. When you feel stuck in the middle, do your best and know there are good times ahead.

3. Am I Pretty - The Maine

There is never a good reason to change who we are to meet the expectations of others. “Am I Pretty?” is a rhetorical question, because the answer is always going to be yes. Let loose and celebrate what it means to be you.

4. Singing in the Rain - Simple Plan

It's pretty hard to be panic when listing to this tune. Wrenches are made to be thrown into plans, but don't let that change your outlook. Keep singing on, rain or shine.

5. I'm Good - The Mowgli's

This one is all about making the most of the life we're given to make the world better place than it was. Even if things don't go as you plan, sometimes you just have take it all in consideration remind yourself that it's all good.

6. Weightless - All Time Low

What kind of list would this be without these four dudes? They know bad days happen, but one day does not speak for the entire year. Take control of the minutes passing and make it the best year yet.

7. Drive - Tonight Alive

Sometimes you just have to grab the wheel and take your own path. Nothing will be as freeing or exhilarating.

Hakunah Matata, all.

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. Recently I completed my freshman year of college, and boy, what an experience. It was a completely new learning environment and I can't believe how much I learned. In an effort to save time, here are the ten biggest lessons I learned from my first year of college.

1. Everyone is in the same boat

For me, the scariest part of starting school was that I was alone, that I wouldn't be able to make any friends and that I would stick out. Despite being told time and time again that everyone had these same feelings, it didn't really click until the first day when I saw all the other freshman looking as uneasy and uncomfortable as me. Therefore, I cannot stress this enough, everyone is feeling as nervous as you.
