What makes up a week?

Everyone’s week is different. We have priorities, friends, family, jobs, school and other events that make the week feel like it is dragging on forever.

What if I told you, I could help you get through the week with ease? Impossible? I say, neigh! But how, I’m sure you’re wondering that.

What can I do to make your week better? (For some of you hundreds of miles away.)

Being able to get you out of bed, moving and excited for all the possibilities that the week in front of you holds – even on Monday morning when we can’t seem to roll out of bed.

I’m going to do it all with … A playlist.

Monday – the hardest day of the week

“ER ER ER ER ER ER ER”, the sound of your alarm echoes through your dream and you slowly open your eyes. It’s Monday morning, but you … aren’t ready for it. I mean, who really is?

Some of us are headed into work to meet the week ahead of stress. A few of us are headed to class, coming off the all-nighter we pulled the day before studying for that exam your teacher never reminded you about.

Regardless, unless you’re a morning person you need a pick me up.

What’s your prescribed song today?

Spectrum – Zedd, Matthew Koma

Tuesday – Monday’s evil twin

So you made it through Monday … you’re on your way to the weekend, almost.

Your mindset is a little clearer this morning after getting your grueling Monday tasks out of the way, but of course, like any week, there’s a roadblock – literally on your way to work.

So you’re stuck in traffic? Well plug in your auxiliary cord or turn on your Bluetooth, Tuesday’s song is …

Greek Tragedy – The Wombats

Wednesday – HUMP DAY!

They mid-week hump is here, of course not soon enough. But it’s here!

You’ve made it three days into your week and you’re feeling great. (I’ve been killing the song choices haven’t I?)

So on this wonderful work-week-hump-day, what’s your jam?

You’re feeling a song where you go, “Ooooh, that beat is fire!” Well, you were right.

(warning this song contains explicit content*

Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1 - Kanye West

Thursday -- #ThrowBack Thursday

Read the title, I mean come on … you know what’s coming.

It’s Throwback Thursday everyone and amongst your multiple Instagram throwback pictures, I’ve got the ultimate throwback song for you to get your head bobbing.

You’ll be strutting into the room like never before, practicing your highest pitched screeches and feeling the funk and groove

Stayin’ Alive – Bee Gees

Friday – It’s here, the weekend

This might be a little cliché, but Friday’s song even has the word in it.

You’ll want to play this song when you’re walking out of work preparing for the weekend.

You’ve been working all week for the moment, jamming all the way there and finally, the payoff is here.

Friday is here and you’ve got plans to hit the town tonight. So go, but plug this in first.

Hello Friday – Flo Rida (feat. Jason Derulo) (Explicit)

Saturday – Mid-weekend Vibin’

So last night was a success. You saw everyone out at the bars, or you finally had that relaxing night with yourself or maybe a significant other.

Regardless, you still have the rest of the weekend in front of you.

Let’s see what I can stir up here.

Don’t Let Me Down – The Chainsmokers, Daya

Sunday – Fun Day

Sunday is here. The week is over and we’re approaching the final week anthem.

Today is dedicated to most of us catching up on the work we didn’t finish over the weekend or even recovering from the festivities of Friday and Saturday.

Some of us are headed into church or some of us haven’t even left our beds yet.

Sunday’s a day of complete chill – so what’s the song today?

This Must Be My Dream – The 1975

So that’s it.

Your weekday restarts and it’s back to the grueling day of Monday morning.

Anytime you need a pick me up, or some songs to get you into the groove come back to this playlist. Although all of these songs are my personal preference, I think they all have their role in improving your week.

Thanks for coming on this journey with me, come back soon.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Sister | Brother Style - Word Press

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
