7 Situations In Which Netflix Is The Real MVP

Netflix has become increasingly popular over the years. Everyone has a Netflix account, and if you don't, chances are you have a friend who lets you bum off them and watch shows on their account (y'all are also the real MVPs, by the way). Either way, Netflix has helped you through some pretty tough times. Here are 7 situations where Netflix comes in clutch:

1. On rainy days

There is just something about gloomy, rainy days that make you want to curl up in bed and hibernate. And nothing better accompanies your warm bed, on a rainy day, better than Netflix. (Maybe "Netflix and Hibernation" should be the new "Netflix and Chill.")

2. When you have an 8 page paper to write

That paper you need to write can most definitely wait to be written until the night before it is due, and luckily, Netflix is there to help you procrastinate and gives you a legit reason to do so.

3. You don't want to pay an arm leg to go see a movie at the theater

Honestly, these days a move ticket plus popcorn and a drink, costs as much as a month's worth of rent (Okay, maybe that is a slight exaggeration, but not by much). Funds aside, the 40 minutes of agonizing previews leading up to the movie are reason enough to want to stay home. Cheap and timely solution? Netflix. You get a wide variety of movie options, in the comfort of your own home. Winning.

4. When you don't want to interact with humans

Your friends invite you out, but you just really want a night in because it doesn't require pants or human interaction. Saying, "I think I am gonna stay home because I have to finish the new season of Grey's Anatomy" is a completely understandable and admirable reason to not go out. Your friends won't question it or judge you for it.

5. When you are sick of Hulu and its repetitive commercials

Everyone hates commercials. They are annoying and repetitive and long enough to be irritating but never long enough for a bathroom break. Netflix is ad-free, which prevents you from wasting your precious time watching commercials and allows more time for your favorite shows. Reason 8567 to love Netflix.

6. When you can't sleep at 3 A.M.

Whether your sleep is being interrupted by your never-ending stream of thoughts or by your noisy neighbors across the hall, no biggie; Netflix is the perfect 3 A.M. fix.

7. During times of heartache

When real life significant others, or lack thereof, are getting on your last nerves and bumming you out, you can drown your sorrows in the unrealistic love lives of characters portrayed in the sappy movies on Netflix. Go ahead, drink that whole bottle of wine, and cry over how hot young Ryan Gosling is. Netflix is not judging you.

Basically, Netflix is a lifesaver and may currently be the best relationship in your life.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
