8 Signs You've Found Your Person

Friends in life will come and go and that's okay! Some people just weren't meant to be a part of your life in the long run. All life experiences, both good and bad, can be learned from and the same can be said about people. Some friends might not make it on the full journey with you, but that doesn't mean any time spent or memories made along the way weren't worth your time. But some friends, some you'll have for life. When you've found a friend like this, here are some definite ways you'll know.

1. You can go a long time without contact and pick up exactly where you left off.

It's not the type of friendship where you need to stay in constant contact. If life gets busy and you go a while without seeing each other, all it takes is a night of movies and wine to pick right back up.

2. They're not afraid to give you tough love.

The best kinds of friends tell you what you need to hear not what you want to hear, even it if means risking the friendship. Sometimes they can see a bad situation better because they're on the outside of it, and they're not afraid to call you out even if you might hate them for it for a while.

3. Your efforts are always reciprocated.

They always meet you halfway and you're never left feeling like you're wasting your time and energy on them.

4. They probably insult you more than compliment you.

Chances are if you run into them on campus they're gonna be calling you a slut from across the quad, not running up to hug you and say hi. That's the difference between a friend and a best friend.

5. You can be comfortable in complete silence.

There is never any pressure to fill the silence. You can talk for hours or just sit around scrolling through social media doing nothing productive and it's equally as pleasant.

6. You have no idea how they've stuck around for so long.

They know you're a mess, they know you can be a bitch when you're overtired, and they know your jokes are sometimes mean instead of funny; yet, somehow, they stay. The beauty in a true friendship is knowing they love and accept you for exactly who you are, the good and the bad.

7. They support your terrible ideas.

This person will never let you be a crazy bitch alone. You've probably made hundreds of memories doing dumb stuff with them and for that, you're forever grateful.

8. A world without them would be a scary place.

The idea of seeing a dumb tweet and not being able to send it to them or not being able to tell them that cute kid from calc class is single now sends chills up your spine. They're your best friend and you have no idea what you'd do without them.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
