As Thanksgiving break is upon college campuses and finals week is just around the corner, you just want to go home, and stay home. Here are some reasons why you may be feeling this way:
1. You can't handle your classes anymore.
The more the work piles up, the more you procrastinate. You are sick of writing papers, studying for tests, and you can't stand the idea of reading any more from your textbook. Let's not even talk about the looming finals.
2. You are starting to get tired of living with other people.
You miss your own bathroom at home and sleeping in a room by yourself. Just the simple privacy of being at home is something you long for. There is too much noise in the dorm late at night, and all you want is some uninterrupted time to yourself.
3. Dining hall food is starting to bother you.
At the beginning of the semester, it was fun to have lots of choices and unlimited food for every meal. But now all you want is your mom's cooking and something other than the same old meals your dining hall serves every other week.
4. The stress
You are stressed, don't deny it. Along with classes, you have a million other things going on. You miss the days when you didn't have things to do. You miss having free time. You are ready to go home and lay on your couch on not have anything to think about.
5. The holidays are coming.
Next up on your calendar is Thanksgiving and then Christmas, and you are so ready. Bring on the food, the family, and the festivities. Enough of this college thing already, let's get to eating turkey and wrapping presents!
6. You're on a low budget now that you've reached the end of the semester.
After three months of Starbucks, late night pizza, and ice cream runs, you're running low on spending money. You can't wait to get home so you can eat with your family and not have to buy food for yourself.
7. All you want is a good night's sleep.
Studying, homework, and even late night Netflix has been keeping you up for the past few weeks. You're busy and you don't get as much sleep as you need. Home is beckoning you with it's comfy beds and extra time to catch up on those z's.
