1. You Hear Fire Scanners Go Off In Your Home

No matter what day or time it is, you are always able to hear the tones go off in your home several times a day. Whether the call is something small or something serious, you can almost always guaranty that he'll automatically be rushing out the door.

2. He Has Fire Gear In The Back Of His Car

Every firefighter always has an extra set of fire gear to keep in the trunk of there car in case they are ever on the road when a call comes in. So be aware of not having extra room in the back of the car

3. There's A Scanner And Blue Lights Attached To His Car

There has to be someway to know when a call is active while you're driving on the road. Good thing a portable scanner is able to come in handy.

4. His Closet Is Halfway Filled With Job Shirts

Between t-shirts, sweatshirts and pullovers, one can never have too many pieces of clothing that represents there dream job of putting out fires.

5. He Has To Go To Drills On The Weekend

Unlike the rest of the family, firefighters still need to work on the weekend, whether it's a payed or volunteer position. By having company drills at least once or twice a month firefighters are able to practice at local training centers so they are prepared for when a real emergency occurs.

6. Fire Calls Are Always A 24/7 Role

Almost every year, my dad, grandfather, and two cousins have had to go to a fire call in the middle of our traditional Christmas Eve dinner. So no matter what day, holiday, or time it is, any type of fire call could happen any second.

7. You Know The Names Of Each Type Of Fire Truck By Heart

Forestry, Rescue, Ladder, Engine, Tanker
