7 Signs You Live In Southern Chester County, PA

Living in Southern Chester County definitely has its pros and cons.

1. Getting stuck behind an Amish buggy happens to you at least once a week.

Is getting stuck behind an Amish buggy an appropriate excuse for being late?

2. You tell everyone you're from "outside of Philly" when you go out of town.

Although you probably live about an hour away from Philadelphia, it is just easier than telling outsiders the town that you actually live in because chances are, they've never heard of it before.

3. You don't need to travel far for pizza because you live within a mile of a few pizza shops.

There is literally a pizza shop on almost every street, so you will never run out of options.

4. Wawa is the most popular convenience store.

Wawa is one of the only convenience stores I know to have die hard fans aside from Sheetz. Just don't tell a Wawa fan that Sheetz is better.

5. The smell of mushrooms and manure does not faze you.

Being surrounded by farms and living close to Kennett, the mushroom capital of the world, really makes you prone to ignoring the awful smell.

6. You take pride in Herr's Snack Factory.

Herr's Snack Foods are among the most popular snacks on the East Coast and they're made right in Chester County. People travel hours just to take a tour of the factory, which is pretty cool considering how close it is.

7. Your favorite tourist attraction is Longwood Gardens.

If you want to get sightseeing, Longwood Gardens is the place to go. Especially around Christmas time.

Southern Chester County may not be the most exciting place to live, but when you've lived here as long as I have, you get used to it.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
