Despite the springtime weather just getting into full swing, summertime is just around the corner. If you are someone like me who despises the cold and finds life in the summer to be much more happy and free, then you are probably anxious for those warm, summer months to get here. Here are seven signs that you are ready for the fluctuating cold and wet seasons to be over:

1. You are already over your winter wardrobe.

As soon as the temperature high starts hitting sixty-degrees, sweaters and boots have left your daily outfits. You will tough it out through any cool mornings and nights, because the best days are when you can just throw on a t-shirt, shorts, and sandals.

2. You are already talking about your summer vacation.

When the warmer months roll around, vacations and summer plans are all that are on your mind. The planning and anticipation leading up to big events--music festivals, trips to the beach, camping, etc.--make them that much more exciting.

3. You are making more time to spend outside.

When it is finally tolerable to spend a lengthier time outdoors, you make the time to do so. During the winter months, being stuck inside can be rather restricting and draining after so long--the feeling you have when you can get outside and feel the warm, open air is freeing and irreplaceable.

4. You are already browsing for new bathing suits.

Eager for those days and nights by the beach or the pool, you have already been scrolling through the swim section on your favorite shopping outlets. It is empowering when you finally have an excuse to wear a bathing suit, making you feel confident and comfortable in your own skin.

5. Daylight Saving Time excites you.

The shorter days in the wintertime can make it seem as though there are not enough hours in the day, but some of the best things about summertime are the long, sun-filled days and warm nights.

6. You are craving foods that are best in the summer.

Freshly-squeezed lemonade, popsicles, fruits and vegetables from a farmer’s market, and tender meats cooked on the grill to perfection are some of the best foods exclusive to summertime.

7. You are dreaming of a break.

Whether you are still in school and are ready for a break from classes, or are working and have a vacation planned, having the chance to get away and experience the perks of summer is something to look forward to. Even if you seldom have the time for a true break or chance for travel, the small things about the summertime are worthy of being enjoyed.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
