7 Signs You're Officially #Adulting

It's no secret that growing up is a difficult, confusing, and long journey. You don't wake up one day and just call yourself a grown up in society, you slowly become one. This process usually happens in your early twenties and, for most of us, when we go to school away from home. Below are the 7 signs you are officially (and successfully!!) #adulting.

1. You realize how much food actually costs

For 18 years I lived in a house stocked with an abundance of food. I remember throwing in tons of snacks in my mom's grocery cart without even thinking about the price. Now, gone are the days I roll my eyes at my mom for buying "store brand" oreo's because my paychecks will only go so far at the grocery store.

2. You take advantage of sales

Pretty sure nobody on this Earth appreciates discounts, sales, and Black Friday shopping as much as a broke college student. Who would have thought that half price apps could make someones day?

3. You don't need to stay out all night

No, just because I don't party every night doesn't mean I'm a boring old cat lady. I just have tons of work to get done and want to wake up feeling rested, not hungover.

4. You like spending time with your family

When you live with your parents you don't ever want to go hangout with them, but when you live alone nothing is better than catching up with their corny jokes.

6. You have long term goals

In high school life was about what was going on that weekend. It was the football game, prom, and spring break. Everything revolved around having fun with your friends. However, in college you start to focus on your long term goals and building a future for yourself.

7. You no longer have a million friends

In life your lucky to get one or two really close friends that support you and care about how you are doing. As you become an adult, you realize how few people really want to do that for you. You lose touch with the fake friends and focus on spending time with the real ones.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

Because we made it, and because high school seniors deserve to know what they're getting themselves into

too tired to care

We've all been there. From move-in day to the first finals week in college, your first term is an adventure from start to finish. In honor of college decisions coming out recently, I want to recap some of the most common experiences college freshmen experience.

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!

Dear High School Friend Group,

My sweet angels, where would I be without you guys. We all grew up together because we either met in middle school or high school and watched each other grow up and get "old." We got to go to prom together and then graduate together. Then watched each other as we continued our lives in college, joining sororities and meeting people who will impact our lives forever. It all has happened so fast.
