Saying you're from Mustang, Oklahoma can spur a lot of different reactions, "Does everyone who lives there drive a Mustang?" "Do you all ride horses?" Yeah, we've heard it all a million times. And the answers to both are no. However, there are a couple of things that most people from Mustang will be able to relate to...

1. You've been to one (or every) Mustang vs. Yukon football game.

Our biggest rival, the Yukon Millers. (Their mascot is a guy who works at a flour mill... I mean come on, a Bronco would win every time) If you're from Mustang, chances are you aren't a big fan of the Yukon Millers football team.

2. You're really into the Fourth of July.

Of course, we love our country and we may be a little too excited about fireworks, and that is fully displayed on the Fourth of July. People spend thousands of dollars on fireworks and stay up all night to pop them all. It's one of the most beautiful and terrifying nights of the year.

3. You know what "Western Days" is.

Oh good ole Western Days, where you get up early and go sit through a two-hour parade and then you walk around the town for the rest of the day.

4. You see someone you know every time you go to Walmart.

It's true. I don't think I've ever been to our Walmart without seeing someone I know.

5. You either love Los Vaqueros, or you hate it.

Los Vaqueros, one of the only "sit-down" restaurants in Mustang. Anyone from Mustang has been there at least once, and everyone has different opinions about it.

6. You've been to "The Carnival."

The carnival that always seems to randomly show up two or three times a year in the parking lot of the bowling alley and tractor supply. The rides probably aren't the safest thing in the word nevertheless, we ride on them.

7. You own at least one piece of clothing with a bronco on it.

We support our high school, and our mascot is the Bronco. Anywhere you go in Mustang, you are bound to see someone in a Bronco tee shirt or driving around with a bronco sticker on the back of their car.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter
morethanwheels

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
