Now a days, it seems like our society has very little faith in our children. Whether it's '90's kids complaining that all they wanted was a Gameboy when they were ten and ten year olds today aren't happy with an iPhone or that children hate playing outside, someone is always complaining. The good news is, children of all ages have potential. I have gathered seven shows that will restore your faith in the next generation of humanity.
Kids' Week On JeopardyConfession: I love to watch Jeopardy but for the most part, I don't know the answers... except for during kids' week. Call it cheating or whatever, it makes me feel smart to know I can answer 75% of the questions.
Chopped JuniorNot only are these kids cute, they're amazing at cooking!
Junior Master Chef Again, adorable kids with great talent. And bonus(!!!) It's refreshing to hear Gordon Ramsey be nice. Competitors in Junior Master Chef often show great manners and help each other out as well.
Kids Baking Championship
I know, there's a lot of cooking/baking shows that involve kids. I could see people saying that they get bored of watching kids cook, but cooking is an important skill and it's relatively easy one to learn.
So You Think You Can Dance Next GenerationIf you're a fan of the So You Think You Can Dance, I definitly recommend Next Generation. It's a fun play on the original, where the dancers get to dance with their mentors. Bonus points for awesome judge Maddie Ziegler!
The OlympicsFor many Americans, sports are not a number one prioity in our everyday lives. That hasn't stopped most of us from being glued to our TV's for the past two weeks. While Laurie Hernandez, 16, isn't as young as some of the competitors on Food Network, it's still an amazing feat.
Dance MomsThis show is my absolute favorite and anyone who happens to walk in on me during TV Time will be subjected to watching it. Aside from the drama and cattiness of the adults, the kids are full of more talent in my middle finger. ...And yes, I have tried to do a chin stand thinking it was easy. It wasn't.
There you have it. Seven shows that showcase the talent in today's youth. I definitely recommend watching them, but don't feel bad about yourself. Girls like Nia Sioux and Maddie Ziegler have been dancing since they were two, while children like Sophia from Chopped Junior have been cooking from the time they could toddle. As for being on Jeopardy's Kids' Week, it may be too late, however you may be able to play in the College Competition or even the regular one.
