We’ve all had at least one of these and if you haven't, that just means one is in your future. It's bound to happen. You’re going to have at least one awkward first date in your lifetime and there's nothing you can do about it. All you can do is laugh it off... Here are some hilarious examples of seriously awkward first dates:

“I went on a date with this guy and he didn’t talk to me and basically just stared at me the whole time.” - Ally

“I went on a date with this guy named James and he was trying to act like somebody he totally wasn’t and it was VERY noticeable” - Aubrey

“One time I was catfished by a guy - I had a blind date with him and I was standing right next to him and I didn’t even recognize him! That same guy told me that he could do my job better than me. Also, there was another time I got catfished again and the guy showed up to our date drunk and with his best friend.” - Emmie

“A friend set me up with her friend's friend and we all went out together. He ended up ignoring me and talking to another girl the whole night.” - Chrystal

“This guy picked me up and we were driving on the highway back to his place to watch movies and order pizza. We weren't even 10 minutes into the drive and he says he isn’t feeling well. We pull over into Dunkin and he goes in to use the bathroom. He comes back with some water and says that he's sorry but he isn’t feeling well so I’ll have to go home. I get home and text him asking if that was all a joke just because he didn't like me and wanted me to go home. He said, "No, but I do look bigger than I appear in my tinder photos" (mind you there's a whole body shot and he smells like someone that uses goat milk soap) and doesn't want to meet again. It was awkward because I was dressed nice and my makeup was done and he was in mismatched basketball shorts and a tank. He smelled really weird and his hair was a mess. I didn't find him attractive but I thought I would be nice and give it a shot. I was more irritated that I wasted makeup and a cute outfit. I was also embarrassed because I had to explain to my mom why I came back 20 minutes later.” - Brittany

“It was my first time ever going on a date and we went to go get ice cream. All of a sudden, there was a gust of wind and a whole chunk of my hair went right into my ice cream. I tried to push my hair back and act like nothing happened and he said that he'd never seen that happen before and I told him that it's a first for the both of us! He really took that whole situation as a champ.” - Lindsay

“My first date with my ex was really weird because we worked at Pizza Hut together so I had never seen him in normal clothes. So, he shows up in SUPER skinny jeans and when we left my house, he sped off like crazy and my mom called me freaking out. That day should’ve been my sign to ignore him forever!!” - Courtney

I know you may be wondering, so, yes. I too have had an awkward first date. It was with the guy I am with now. We went out to dinner and his ex-girlfriend was our waitress. He had no idea she worked at the restaurant... Yikes! Yeah, that was interesting and awkward for all of us!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
