Do you love the Internet? Do you spend most of your time surfin' the World Wide Web? Do you find that the time you spend on the Internet becomes mundane, repetitive, and just out right boring? Well do I have a solution for you! Here is a list of seven secrets that the Internet holds so you can be more excited about browsing the Internet all day, just like you used to.

1. Facebook Messenger Basketball Game

If you are using the Facebook Messenger app, you can send (or receive) a basketball emoji that activates a game inside of the app. The game is similar to Paper Toss. It's very fun and very addicting. The goal is to beat your friend's high score.

2. Konami Code

This is a cheat code that originated in the 1986 game "Gradius" for the NES, which then was popularized by Americans in the NES version of Contra. Also known as "Contra Code" or "30 Lives Code," it was created by Kazuhisa Hashimoto who found that the game was too difficult to play during testing. In order to help the players out, he created this cheat code to give the player a full set of power-ups instead of gradually gaining them throughout the game.

Konami code is now an iconic gaming relic that's deeply embedded in gaming history across the world. Some companies have taken advantage of this secret code and added it as an addition to their websites.

The code is: up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A. By typing this code with your keyboard (arrow keys and letters), you can activate cool easter eggs on some websites. Here are a few that it works on: Gamespot (Konami code + enter), Geek and Hype, Video Game Obsession (Konami code + Enter), Elliott Kember, and Digg (the best one).

3. Atari Breakout

If you Google image search "Atari Breakout," you'll be able to play the game!

When I got to the 2nd level, it showed pictures of chicken and dumplings. Weird.

4. Black Acre Brewing

If you go to the Black Acre Brewing website, and click "I Am Under 21," something pretty radical happens.

5. Unable To Connect To The Internet

When you get this message while using Chrome, you will see this screen:

When you press the space bar, it activates a game!

6. Snake On YouTube

When a video is not loading on YouTube, this is the buffer screen:

When you press the left arrow key (hold it for about three seconds), it turns into a game of Snake.

This does not work on Google Chrome.

7. Harlem Shake

Type "do the harlem shake" in the search bar of YouTube and hit enter.

Now you can continue to slack off in class the fun way!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
