7 Reasons Every Couple Should Play Diablo Together

A few weeks ago, my boyfriend bought "Diablo III". I had heard of the "Diablo" series before, but I never tried it out myself. I wasn’t exactly thrilled when I heard him say that we’d be playing together. In my mind, RPGs (role-playing games) were exclusively a solo adventure. I initially hated the thought of depending on someone else in that kind of gameplay, but I decided to give it a try. I am so incredibly pleased with the impact it has had on my relationship. So much so, that I now highly recommend that every couple play this particular game together.

1) When playing "Diablo" you are a team. This means you do your best to have your partner’s back! For example, you decide to be a Wizard and your partner is a Demon Hunter. If monsters are swarming him or her, balance their offensive power with your spells. Working with your partner and coming to their aid will make you both feel loved and protected in a very unconventional way.

2) You get a chance to learn each other’s strengths and weaknesses in an informal environment. Whether your relationship is brand-new or long-term, you’ll be surprised at the different sides you see of your partner when they’re really into the game.

3) It’s basically couples therapy. Seriously though! It requires you to communicate. I would even say it sharpens your communication skills. You learn how to coach and cheer each other on. That doesn’t mean things won’t get rough when you have trouble defeating a difficult boss, but think of this as practice for the real world. The fact that you’re both working toward a common enemy makes it less stressful and more constructive.

4) You can make/buy them important items without spending any real money. Sign in and create a rare weapon in the armory for them. It’s a cute surprise that doesn’t cost you anything and will show them that even when you’re apart you’re still thinking of them.

5) Celebrating together will keep you both motivated and make you feel closer. Beating the game (or even just a boss) will give you both a sense of accomplishment that could not be achieved without one another. So high-five when you beat a Demon Lord of Hell, or grab your partner's face and give them a big smooch. Trust me, it’ll feel natural after what you’ll go through in the game.

6) "Diablo" is a great way to find common ground, especially when you and your partner have personality differences. Extrovert or introvert, it doesn’t matter. The gameplay provides a safe environment where you can both feel comfortable.

7) It’s a cute, laid back date night that you both will want to keep and prioritize. If you’ve been together for a while, you know the importance of date nights. It keeps the relationship alive, but going out all the time on the same dinner and a movie date can get boring. Plus, the whole routine of hair, makeup and choosing an outfit can feel like a chore when you’ve had a long day.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
