7 Relatable New Years Resolutions

When in doubt, ask the internet.

Every January 1st, I tell myself I'm going to go to the gym more, or I'm going to eat healthier. When that doesn't work out, I look to the internet for a backup plan, or five. Here are some logical new years resolutions that we can all relate to on some level.

1. Stop being so emotional

2. Learn to be cute WITHOUT snapchat

3. Stop spending so much time in the bathroom

Admittedly, this is something I do. I'll be scrolling through my Instagram feed or my facebook feed and won't even notice time passing until somebody knocks on the door and tells me I've been in the bathroom for a good half hour doing nothing.

4. Get it together

5. Stop being negative

Although it's good to be positive and not be hard on yourself, don't always go playing the blame game.

6. Stop spending so much money on food

When I look through my bank statements, it's no surprise that the majority of my money goes to food. While we do need food to live, I think this year I can cut back a bit on the daily Wawa stops and the weekly trips to Applebees.

7. And basically make all of this come true

Although it's too late for Bernie Sanders to be president, I can at least attempt to accomplish the rest of the list, right?

Everyone who is in college right now, or has ever been, knows the struggle of pulling in the strings at the last second. It seems impossible, and you have to do a LOT of things in order to assure your future for the next semester.

April Ludgate, historically, is a very annoyed person, and she doesn't hide it. Of all the times that I binged and re-binged "Parks and Rec," her attitude relates more and more to me.

To The Cheerful Person On Their Rainy Days, You Are Valid

The world is not always sunshine and rainbows, and you do not have to be, either.

Ask friends of mine to name a quality about me, and one a lot them will point out the fact that I am almost always smiling. I like to laugh and smile -- not to quote Buddy the Elf in April, but smiling is my favorite! It is probably my favorite go-to expression. However, what a lot of people do not see is that I have my down days. I have days when smiling and laughing is a real struggle, or when I have so much on my plate that going out of my way to behappy takes more effort than I have stored in me. Be it a symptom of college and growing up or a facet of life, I cannot always be content.
