7 Reasons To Work With Kids
Job Inspirations

Working with children, also known as tiny humans (grey's fans will understand), is not like any other job. They keep you on your toes at all times. Some days will be harder than others, but that's just how it goes. Some will test your patience and push your buttons, and some will know the right thing to say to make your day! However, not everyone is made to work with children; it definitely takes a special kind of person to work with children.

1. They come out with some of the funniest things

Whether it be a spelling mistake or a speaking mistake. They come out with some of the funniest things that will be sure to brighten your day!

2. They're brutally honest

One time, I had a child come up to me and ask if I was having a boy or girl... I was only 17 and I'm definitely not expecting a kid now, nor was I then!

3. They can tell when something's wrong, and they'll make you feel better

Kids can always tell how you're feeling even if you don't say anything. This is actually a huge part of the job. If you're happy and super excited, chances are they will be too. If you're angry about something they can sense the tension, which will only make your job harder. And if you're upset, they can sense that too, and they definitely give the best hugs!

4. You'll never be bored at work

I have no idea how, but kids are full of energy 24/7! You'll be lucky if you can gert them to sit still and watch a movie! with that being said...

5. It makes it more acceptable as to why you know every word to every Disney movie/song

I am totally not ashamed that I can recite the movie Frozen from start to finish and can sing the entire soundtrack — that along with the Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and The Beast, and probably the rest of the Disney collection!

6. You will build a great immune system

Chances are the first few weeks you start working with children, you will get sick. They come in with just about every illness. But on the bright side, after about a few months or a year, your immune system has never looked better!

7. You'll find out very quickly if you're a kid person or not — if you're not, don't worry the parents come back eventually! Haha

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
