7 Reasons Why You Should Embrace Your Inner "White Girl" This Fall

As October eases past summer’s light breezes, there's a wonderful chill in the air. Yet every year as we face the beautiful comforts of the season, “white girls” are faced with some serious stigma. Perhaps they rave about how much they can’t wait for fall all summer, but what’s not to rave about? Temperatures changing to create perfect cuddle weather and a series of universal deliciousness is becoming available- for limited time only! “White girls” get a bad rep, so this autumn instead of criticizing their joy in the season, here are 7 reasons why you should embrace it as well!

1. Pumpkin Spice Lattes

Admit it- you know you love a nice hot PSL on a perfect, brisk autumn day. It’s a universal pleasure that white girls have taken hostage of, but don’t let that stop you! Enjoy that delicious seasonal drink, because you’ll miss it when it’s gone!

2. Artsy fall instagram pics

The fall brings absolutely gorgeous scenery no matter where you are. The gradient of the leaves as they’re changing looks like rainbows hanging from the tree tops- and of course they make excellent Instagram backgrounds! If you’re looking to amp up the aesthetic on the gram, the gorgeous view nature creates is a perfect addition to your profile!

3. Uggs

Whatever anyone may have to say about Uggs, they’re comfy as hell! For the days you just want to keep your feet nice and warm and comfy, Uggs are your best friend. Perfect for casual fall days in leggings and sweatshirts, enjoying being outside while the weather's still comfortable.

4. Apple picking

It’s a known fact that apples picked in the fall taste better than apples picked year round; you can tell the difference between an autumn apple and a regular apple just by the taste! And of course, apple picking comes with other amazing delicacies: apple pie, apple cider, apple cider donuts and of don't forget apple picking Instagram pictures!

5. Scarves

The best addition to any outfit is a comfy cute scarf. Not only does it keep you warmer as the temperature gets colder, it spices up any outfit that you feel might be too plain! Layering up makes fall cute and practical, allowing you to make styles completely unique to you!

6. Socks

Whether you like boot socks to add to your outfits or you like fuzzy socks to keep your feet nice and toasty throughout the day, your season is finally here! Summer makes it impossible to enjoy the cozy comfort of socks but now your feet can feel like they’re snuggled up in bed all the time.

7. Sweater weather

Everyone knows the best time to wear a striped sweater is all the time, but now the weather makes it even more enjoyable! Sweaters have the amazing ability to be as comfy as a sweatshirt with its soft, loose hanging qualities, yet still be cute if you were going out to dinner with friends or family! The versatility of sweaters make them amazing for any day of the week and are bound to put a smile on your face!

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.

Growing up I have always wanted to own a horse. My grandparents own a well known equestrian facility in Georgia, so I have been riding since I was born. A bond between a person and their horse is a bond so strong that it cannot be broken. Everywhere I went I wanted to be around horses, even forcing my family to go on trail rides during vacations. Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember has taught me great responsibility, as well as 14 things that all equestrians can relate to.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.
