As season three of BBC’s "Orphan Black: has come to a close, let us reflect on why we absolutely love this twisted series. The enticing story line keeps us begging for more after each episode, and face it, we all have our favorite clone. "Orphan Black" is not your average family-friendly series, however is does captivate your heart and is VERY addictive. Be sure to catch up on the past three seasons before season four premiers in 2016!
1. Tatiana Maslany
Tatiana Maslany is the actor behind not one, not two, but all 14 of the identified Leda clones in the series. I can personally guarantee that after watching one episode you cannot help but fall in love with every single one of her characters in some way or another. Keep your eye on this lovely lady, she is destined for stardom.
2. Calling All Adrenaline Junkies
If you enjoy a good thriller now and then, a weekly episode of "Orphan Black" could be your new fix. Each episode leaves your heart pounding and your palms sweaty with excitement, not to mention the occasionally tear in your eye when a beloved character has been lost or found.
3. Donnie Hendrix
As America’s “ideal” father, Donnie serves as one of our leading males in the series. He is lovable because of his honesty, his willingness to do anything for his family, and also for his professional drug dealing skills. He stuck next to Alison through her hot glue gun torture and days in rehab, and is a constant reminder that even an underdog can make a big impact on the community. It is hard to deny that there is a little bit of Donnie Hendrix inside all of us.
4. Making Crazy Science
The science behind the Orphan Black clones invokes your inner nerd. Admit it, listening to Cosima and Scott talk about genetic sequencing and make up fascinates us all.
5. Sisterly Bonds
The growing relationships between the Seestra’s is heartwarming, hilarious, and authentic. These ladies teach us that no matter what your family has got your back. The bonds of sisterhood/clonehood are undeniable and indescribable. No matter the distance your Seestra’s, and Brother-Seestra’s, will be right by your side.
6. The Comedic Side of Sci-Fi
It took me until the sixth episode to really fall in love with the humor in this series. If you can get past the blood, gore, eyeballs, tails, and all around grotesque scenes, you will realize that "Orphan Black: was created by comedic geniuses. With jokes and irony that will appeal to all forms of humor, you are bound to be laughing yourself to tears at one point or another.
