There are not many things that I have missed from home while I am at college but there is one big thing that I have missed: the food.
There are a few local restaurants that I have missed but the main place I missed was Sheetz. Gas station food is usually sketchy but the food at Sheetz is not only legit but it is amazing (plus can Sheetz still even be considered a gas station? It is more like a convince store on steroids that happens to have gas pumps). Sheetz in general is just a great store.
Don't believe me? Here is a list of reasons why:
1. They are everywhere.
Atleast, in the area where I live. Sheetz has locations in six states (PA, MD, VA, WV, NC, and OH) and in some of the areas they are located in they are as easy to find as McDonalds.
2. They are (in my experience) very nice.
Many gas stations look like places that you would not want to be at for very long. Sheetz is different. The inside of most (if not all) the Sheetz I have been in have been very well lit and inviting. Many locations have sitting areas for guests and have wifi!
3. Reasonably priced gas
The Sheetz in my area usually has the lowest gas prices around.
4. The Menu
Sheetz has a huge menu. They have appetizers, subs, sandwiches, soups, tacos, pizza and more. Try the Wisconsin Cheese Bites (its deep fried cheddar cheese) they are delicious! They also have a wide variety of drinks.
5. Made to order food
Almost everything on the menu can be customized so the variety of the place is even greater. One of my favorite things to do is get a chicken tender sub and add buffalo sauce and fries on the sub. They also have other delicious mash ups that can be put together.
6. The Deals
Sheetz has many deals and some even vary by time of day. One of my favorites is the late night appetizer one where you can get 3 appetizers for $4. The portions are decent size so getting three allows you to get an extremely cheap late night meal!
7. The Rewards
Like many places, Sheetz has a rewards program. These rewards range from so much off gas and purchases to free food. and they are very easy to earn.
These are just some of the reasons why Sheetz is one of my favorite places to get food. If you haven't tried one, you are seriously missing out.
