I know that I have to get better at texting people back. It is just a bad habit of mine. Like somehow I forget or don't even bother to text people back. I honestly hear it from my friends all the time when they jokingly, or sometimes even serious tell me I never text them back. I'm not stuck up or anything. I do love a great conversation but a lot of times I'm just uninterested in talking. Since I'm so bad at texting, I thought to write a piece about reasons I probably didn't text you back.
1. I wrote a reply but I forgot to press the send button.
Most of the time I look back at conversations in my phone and I wonder why the conversation ended so randomly. I then realize that it was my fault. There I see my full thought out reply just sitting there waiting to be sent. I actually do this a lot without even knowing. I feel like everyone has done this at least once in their life.
2. You sent me nothing but emojis.
Do not get me wrong, I do like to use emojis, but only when I have a conversation to go along with it. I hate when people send me nothing but emojis. Maybe it's just different for me since I'm a writer? Like, I honestly don't want to sound petty or childish, but I would rather you not text me back at all than to send me a message full of emojis. Like get your point across with real words. Plus, I really get mad when I take my precious time to read a message with nothing but emojis.
3. This Netflix show is too lit for any distractions.
Most of the time I'm glued to my laptop and completely forget about what's going on in reality and forget to text people back. I mean, I don't want to miss any second of the show.
4. You do not deserve a text back.
What goes around comes back around? You texted me back slowly not because you are busy but just because you didn't want to. Or maybe you have been ignoring me a lot lately so I don't even bother.
5. I'm on social media.
When I'm on social media, I usually forget all about texting people back until I look at their snapchat or see them on my timeline. This happens so much, and is most likely the number one reason why I did not text you back. Twitter specifically is a big distraction for me.
6. I'm at work.
I'm at working trying make a couple dollars. So that's why I disappeared for most of the day. Unless I can get in a quick text on break or something you will have problems with me texting back. Even after I get off I am probably too tired to text back or I fell asleep as soon as I got home.
7. I just did not want to.
I am completely uninterested.
Really I am just full of excuses, but to be honest, most of the time I hate texting. So yeah, those are some reasons why most people are probably left on delivered by me. Sorry, not sorry?
