7 Reasons Why Jaclyn Hill Is A Great Role Model

1. She's not afraid to be stupid in her videos.

Jaclyn is never afraid to be herself in her videos on Youtube, Snapchat, or even on social media. She stays true to who she is and never lets anything change her. She'll act silly or crazy in videos and completely own up to her own weirdness in a way we all can relate to.

2. She's not afraid to tell it how it is when it comes to makeup brands.

Jaclyn is affiliated with a few makeup brands but is never shy about giving her true opinion. If a product a makeup brand has put out isn't up to par, she lets her subscribers know, so they can save their money. She isn't one of those that kisses makeup companies' butts just because she's associated with them.

3. She gives some bomb ass makeup tips.

Let's be real for a sec, one INSANE reason why we all love Jaclyn is because she is DA BOMB at giving some serious makeup tips. She's a licensed makeup artist, who was previously employed at MAC, so she knows her stuff. She gives tips for techniques, tips on how to apply things a certain way, and tips about brushes. She's very knowledgeable and has a lot of advice to offer a beginner!

4. She's not afraid to address real life issues she's dealt with and continuing to dealing with.

Jaclyn is very open about the mental issues she struggles with, and I think it's so important to hear someone in the limelight dealing with the same issues you could have. She is honest about how she tries to treat it, handle it, and battle it. Jaclyn being so open just makes her so relatable to her subscribers because she isn't afraid to show that side of her life.

5. She's extremely family oriented.

If you follow Jaclyn on Snapchat or Instagram, you may have seen pictures of her family, so you know how crazy in love she is with them! It's so heartwarming to see someone so surrounded by love, and also someone who gives a lot of love. Jaclyn devotes a lot of her free time to spending quality time with her family and I think it helps her stay grounded; she never forgot her roots.

6. She's worked her butt off to get where she's at now.

In the beginning, Jaclyn was a struggling free lance makeup artist who worked at Mac. She was living off the McDonald's value meal and didn't have a lot of extra money. Currently, she has collaborated with many makeup brands and is in the process of creating her own line. She was thrust into the limelight when her makeup channel on Youtube became a success, and it has changed her whole life. She has worked her butt off over the last few years to get where she is now, and her hard work is definitely paying off.

7. She's always keeping it real.

No matter what Jaclyn does in her life, she is always keeping it real! She owns up to her mistakes as a person and as a businesswoman. She doesn't let money or greed get the best of her and she remains incredibly humble and grounded. Jaclyn didn't create this perfect image on Youtube so thousands of young adults could look up to another unrealistic standard in today's society. She lets all of her subscribers know and understand her lifelong and everyday struggles. She lets her subscribers see just how normal she is, and she lets her subscribers see the real her, no matter what.

Everyone who is in college right now, or has ever been, knows the struggle of pulling in the strings at the last second. It seems impossible, and you have to do a LOT of things in order to assure your future for the next semester.

April Ludgate, historically, is a very annoyed person, and she doesn't hide it. Of all the times that I binged and re-binged "Parks and Rec," her attitude relates more and more to me.

Ask friends of mine to name a quality about me, and one a lot them will point out the fact that I am almost always smiling. I like to laugh and smile -- not to quote Buddy the Elf in April, but smiling is my favorite! It is probably my favorite go-to expression. However, what a lot of people do not see is that I have my down days. I have days when smiling and laughing is a real struggle, or when I have so much on my plate that going out of my way to behappy takes more effort than I have stored in me. Be it a symptom of college and growing up or a facet of life, I cannot always be content.
