7 Reasons Why I'm Stoked For American Horror Story: Freak Show

If you’re an AHS junkie like me, you’ve been keeping up with the press and can barely sit still at the thought of the premier on October 8th. Here are some of the main reasons why I can’t wait for the show to be back:

1. THERE’S TWO SARAH PAULSONS!
If you haven’t seen any of the trailers, then you’ll be excited to know that our favorite Billie Dean, Lana, and Cordelia, will be known as Bette and Dot Tattler as she portrays conjoined twins in Season 4. As Paulson is one of my favorite parts about the series, I’m even more amped that there’s going to be TWO of her.

2. PEPPER IS BACK
That’s right - we’re about to see Pepper pre-season 2 Asylum lock up. Naomi Grossman will be reprising this same character, a microcephalic woman who has the ability to converse with humanoids in Season 2. Always providing a break from the rest of the drama of the show, I’m excited to see what Pepper will be bringing back to the game in Season 4.

3. TWISTY IS RUMORED “SCARIEST CLOWN OF ALL TIME”

I hope you don’t live alone, because creator Ryan Murphy claims that Twisty the Clown is “putting Rubber Man, Bloody Face and all the other nightmare-inducing creatures he’s created over the past three seasons to shame.” Cast members are claiming he’s creepier than Pennywise, the terror from 1990 thriller It. Really? Out-spooking Stephen King? I can’t wait.

4. IT’S OCTOBER

So my favorite thing about this show is that it starts in October - right around the corner from Halloween. Just in time to get me all riled and ready for the tricks and treats that come along with one of my favorite holidays.

5. TEENY LADY?

That’s right - Emma Roberts Instagram post was correct. Jyoti Amge, the world’s smallest woman, will be appearing in the show, as well.

6. WE GET TO SEE THEM IN ACTION

Evan Peters and Emma Roberts (engaged) will share a legitimate on-screen romance - what we’ve been waiting for all along! While Peters will be sporting lobster hands (still unsure how I feel about that one) I’m still pretty excited about seeing them actually together on the screen as a couple instead of that awkward triangle situation from Season 3. Because no matter how perfect Peters and Taissa Farmiga look together, I still couldn’t get over the fact that he had to strangle his real-life GF on camera in “Coven.”

7. JESSICA LANGE, OF COURSE

And, finally, the queen will leave the throne after this season. As the trailer is already promising big things through her glorious ringleader ensemble, she’s announced she’s leaving after this season. So soak it up, kids - this is our last look at royalty.

Buzzfeed has the exclusive trailer in the link below - if you don’t want to see Twisty and his terrifying grin, just stop it about 20 seconds early.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
