Most girls love athletic guys, but hockey players are the top prospect when it comes to finding the type of guy we really want in our life.
1. Pre and post game attire
Chance are, if he’s a hockey player, his coach is making him show up to the rink in dress clothes. Every girl loves a guy in a nice button down and khakis (sometimes with a tie and their team jacket). It shows that they own something else besides basketball shorts and t-shirts they wear to class. Even if the coach lets them show up in workout clothes, it’s usually the best-looking sweats they own.
2. Beards
From the beginning of the season to the end of playoffs is beard season. Forget “No Shave November”. Hockey players are known for their beards, unless of course they can’t grow anything more than a pre-pubescent mustache (in which case, please keep a clean shaven face).
3. Hair
Sure normal people in society have clean cuts, but have you ever seen a hockey player’s lettuce? 75% of the time they have better hair than me, which ends in a discussion about what shampoo they use (mainly Mane ‘n Tail, in case you were wondering). If you’re lucky, you’ll get a chance to play with their gorgeous locks.
4. Good taste in music
Warmies and goals include some of the best music I’ve ever heard, unless of course the coach is charge of choosing the music. And most of the time, that music comes straight from the players’ personal music. So next time you need a killer playlist for a party, look no further than your friendly hockey player.
5. Never cold
The saying “hockey players have ice in their veins and fire in their hearts” is very misleading. I don’t know about you, but I’ve never met a cold hockey player. The rinks aren’t usually heated so having a warm player to cuddle up with after those long games is a good thing.
6. Smooth talkers
Chirping is a way of life on and off the ice. It includes knowing exactly what to say to everything as quickly as possible. But hockey players can also be sweet talkers with their words and can have you wrapped around their fingers in 30 seconds flat. Good luck trying to get away from a conversation because once they start talking, they usually can talk for hours.
7. Dedication
Hockey players dedicate a lot of their time to the rink and their team, but that just means they’ll have the dedication it takes for a relationship when the time comes. Worried that he’s spending too much time on the ice? Don’t worry, he’s just dedicated to the sport he loves and will soon dedicate his time to you.
