1. She takes charge
.
When she sees Alexander, she tells Angelica "this one's mine." She sees what she wants and takes it. She does end up getting married to A.Ham.
2. She has a great relationship with her sisters
As someone who has a sister, a strong relationship with her is one of the best things in my life. She is able to have Angelica to support her when Alexander screws up, big time. *cough* affair *cough*
3. Eliza wrote to General George Washington asking him to protect Alex.
She wrote a letter to the general of the army specifically asking that Alexander stays alive so that he can meet his son. That took guts to ask for that. But she loved her husband so much that she did. Props to her.
4. Eliza forgives Alexander for his affair
After his affair with Maria Reynolds, things go downhill for Alexander and his family. He loses respect with the public, his son is killed in a duel, his wife is distant, and Angelica low-key hates him. But Eliza stays with him and after some time, she forgives him for that. There's a mark of real bravery and love.
5. She raised eight children.
I think that's just enough explanation.
6. She started the first private orphanage in New York City.
After raising her eight children she went on to raise even more. Eliza had such a big heart and a love for everyone that is hard to match.
7. Eliza told their stories
Eliza raised funds for the Washington Monument, she told Alexander's story (interviewed fellow soldiers and read all of his letters), she carried on John Lauren's mission to speak out against slavery, and shared about Angelica.
Forever a strong role model for young girls and women.
