Everyone loves dogs. Maybe it's because of their cute faces, or the fact that they are the perfect thing to come home to after a long day- either way, we all love them. Dogs are always there for us, they always have a hand to hold, and a shoulder to cry on- they are the best friends that we all wish we had. They are loyal, they listen and they love you unconditionally. I don't know about you, but I love dogs that I've never even met and half of my new feed is usually pictures of dogs. So why is that we love dogs so much? Here are seven reasons why we love them, and why they become our best friends. (Disclaimer, you may shed some happy tears).

1. They Always Protect You

Dogs are very protective animals. Whether you're scared of monsters under your bed, or someone breaking into your house, your dog will be there to defend you no matter what. Nothing will be able to get to you before going through your pup- and that type of loyalty is hard to find!

2. They're Always There To Listen

When you've had a long day and a lot to get of your chest, a dog can be the perfect listener. They'll stay right by your side, and listen while you talk about everything that is bothering you. They may not be able to talk back, but if they could tell you they love you, I'm positive they would.

3. They Are Always Happy To See You

Have you ever seen the video of the dog that has a GoPro attached to it's head as its owner leaves for the day? The dog paces around the house anxiously waiting for him to return, and when he does, he jumps around and greets him the best way you can be greeted- doggy kisses. Nobody will ever be as happy to see you as your dog, and that makes us love them even more.

4. They're Always Down For A Spontaneous Road Trip

Sometimes you just want to drive away and get out of town- your dog is the perfect companion for that. No matter where you want to go, they'll just be happy to be with you. Quality time with a dog is never wasted time, and who better to take a selfie with on the road than your dog?

5. Dogs Know Your Emotions Better Than You

It's scientifically proven that dogs have a sense for picking up human emotions. Even when you're feeling just a little under the weather, your dog knows and will usually stay near you to make sure you're okay. No friend will have your back like your dog does, and you can always count on them to be there when nobody else is.

6. They Always Make You Smile

Except when they are biting our shoes and pooping on our rugs, dogs are constantly making us smile. Nobody is more happy than a dog who loves it owner. Whether we're playing catch, watching a movie, or taking a swim in the lake, our dogs are always finding ways to make us smile by just being happy with us.

7. They Will Love You Unconditionally

Friends come and go, but dogs will love you forever. From the day you get them, until the day you say goodbye, your dog becomes your best friend. You make memories that will last a lifetime, and nobody can ever replace the bond that you will make with your dog. My dog is my best friend, and I couldn't ask for a better one.

Sorority

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
