I had no idea what to expect when I rushed, but it changed my life for the better.

8 Reasons Why Being In A Sorority Is Different Than You Think
Christina ReAnn Beckum

Before I joined a sorority, I spent my days talking about why I couldn't stand the idea of them. I thought it was a bunch of mean girls who paid their way through college and did not like anyone who was not involved in Greek life. Right before my sophomore year I decided to transfer schools. My best friend was graduating and I realized I was not going to have a lot of opportunities to meet people and that was when my life did a complete 180.

1. Every sorority girl is different

By this, I don't mean every KD is the same and every ZTA is the same, I mean most houses have at least 150 girls who each have their own personalities and different interests.

2. Not even sorority girl has a wealthy background

Sure there are people who have help paying their dues (which is fine we all need help in college), but there are also a lot of people who work multiple jobs just so they can be apart of an amazing sisterhood.

3. We care a lot about school

Individuals involved in Greek life even tend to have a higher GPA, because we care about being involved in our organization. There is a GPA requirement for every chapter and we will make sure that we don't make the rest of the chapter look bad.

4. For the most part, hazing is not a thing

Sororities don't haze and if they're caught doing it there are serious consequences such as even getting your chapter suspended from your school.

5. Just because you're in a sorority together doesn't mean you're best friends

There are usually around 200 girls in one house so yeah sometimes we're not all going to get along and we might even have different points of view, but in the end we still try to have respect for one another. It's a sisterly bond, so it's kind of treated the same way.

6. We all stick up for our letters

There's a reason why we're part of this organization and Greek life in general so when you say "You're not like other sorority girls", it still hurts.

7. We know people outside of Greek life

We all hang out with people outside of Greek life, our roommates, best friends, relatives. For the most part people involved in Greek life rushed to meet more people so that's exactly how we plan on spending the next four years.

8. It will change your life

Whenever I decided to rush I went in with a mindset that it didn't matter if I got a bid or not but by the end of the week I needed to be in my sorority. It's a love hate relationship some days but honestly I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.

Bob's Burgers
Adult Swim

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.
