From the very beginning Gilmore Girls has always been a show that when I turned it on I was intrigued. I was hooked by the mother and daughter relationship that Lorelai and Rory had, I was amazed at the friendship that Lorelai and Sookie held, and I was in stiches from laughter because of the family arguments that would unravel between Emily, Richard, and Lorelai at Friday Night Dinners. Sitting on the couch one day I realized the common factor of why I loved the show that blessed America’s TVs in the beginning of 2000. The only one who has been disappointing mothers since 1968, Lorelai Gilmore. Here is why we love and should strive to more like the mother of Rory, best friend of Sookie, and daughter of Emily and Richard.

1. Her coffee addiction

Lorelai knows that coffee is a necessity in any busy person’s life. Lorelei’s doesn't only love coffee but she needs it, and she understands how important it is.

2. Her confidence

She has NO SHAME with singing in public and dancing however she likes. She has people in her life that love her, and she knows that is all she needs. She doesn’t care what anyone thinks of her.

3. Her dedication

She believes that anything is possible when you put your mind to it. Take the Dragonfly Inn for example, her and Soookie had the dream of opening an Inn for years, and she didn’t stop until it was accomplished.

4. Her supportiveness

No matter what, she ALWAYS wants the best for Rory and everyone around her. She is willing to do anything to support those around her. Especially Rory... she sits through Friday night dinners with Emily and Richard for years just to support Rory.

5. Her immaturity

Yes, Lorelai is a grown woman who sometimes acts like a child. She can be immature and the best part is that she embraces it. This kind of goes along with her confidence because she commits to being herself and doesn’t care what people think.

6. Her handling on situations

Lorelai Gilmore has one of the strongest personalities ever. She knows what she wants and she isn’t going to settle for less and it’s one of the main reasons why anyone should love her and strive to be more like her.

7. Her eating habits

One thing that everyone will agree on is that Lorelai Gilmore knows how to put away some food. Her stomach is a bottomless pit, and she faults her eating skills. The way she eats is something that anyone would love to inherit.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
